Stakeholder Advisory Committee (SAC) Progress Report 2018

Since the launch of APRIL’s Sustainable Forest Management Policy in 2014, the Stakeholder Advisory Committee (SAC) played an important role in advising and monitoring the implementation of the company’s commitment across environmental, social and governance spheres.

With members that consists of national and international experts in the field of forestry, social issues and business, the independent Committee meets formally three times a year and appoints an assurance provider to evaluate APRIL’s implementation in meeting its sustainability policy goals.

In this 2018 report, the Committee reviews its activities and achievements over the period of four years in advising and helping APRIL stretch the company’s commitments that includes: fibre supply and natural forest, land and forest fires, transparency, suppliers’ compliance with the SFMP and landscape-level restoration.
